Safety and Precautions (Production Blog)

Hey bloggers! it's me back with another blog. This blog is set up like a prequel of the first gathering supplies blog. In this blog we talk more about the brainstorming of the gathering supplies. I may have touched on it lightly in before, but I wanted to elaborate and really shed light on why we made some of the choices we did. Think of this like a reflection/directors commentary. Firstly, why we decided to use knives and blood in the first place. Blood to some is considered light gore and that's a risky field to get into. This is also a risk in the fact that it still needs to be executed well. We really wanted to take our time making sure the blood and use of knives was first safe. But secondly, looked decent. As high schoolers and not production studios we couldn't exactly replicate movies. However, by studying our genre and using some ideas they utilized we would be able to come close to replication. Close to replication for a bunch of broke high school kids that is. Second we wanted to be safe when using extremely sharp objects like the knife. Suse would be the one holding the knife mostly. With this in mind I wanted to make sure she knew how to hold it the proper way while also being able to evoke fear in the viewers. We also rehearsed the stabbing scene Suse and I a few times before using the real thing. All in the name of safety of course. We were also sure to have the proper first aid equipment on standby while filming our movie intro. Just in case of any accidents on set. That's all for now fellow bloggers and until next time.
