CCR blog part 1 (podcast)

Hello everyone. Welcome back to the podcast.  Today we're going to answer some questions that you all sent me. So the first question today will be about conventions learned in our project. Within our video filming process we learned a lot about different conventions such as high angles, tracking shots, and a variety of other shots like being shot, middle shot, MCU shot, medium long shot and close up shot. Bring our filming process you also learned about the importance of lighting and sound within our genre of thrillers and a lot of thrillers that we in my group watched, we notice how lighting and sound really played a role in building up suspense and drama and even fear in some cases. So we were able to, we made sure to utilize that in our video.  More specifically, we used tracking shots, high angles, medium shots, meaning close ups and medium long shots, most commonly in our video that I think would really help drive home and let you know viewers understand what the image going f

Film Review

Hey Bloggers I'm back with another entry. Today we get into our film review blog. Where we get into a reflection of how all the filming and process went. As well as a some peer review comments. All in addition to changes we made. First starting with the film days themselves. When we got all group members together at the filming location the process wasn't long. It took an hour to an hour and a half at most to finish filming. Editing took only a few short days. Just to make sure it was official and ready for publishing. The group who viewed our finished product said they liked our video and how it all came together after the editing. Some specific comments being on the "fluidity" of it all. Comments like these made me have faith in our video actually being pretty good. Needless to say we were thankful. Now getting into some changes made in our filming process. We swapped some lines around from the script. Our actor for Aaliyah was having a hard time dealing with the p

Precautions were taken (Production Blog)

Hello bloggers! today we will get into more depth with topics we've previously discussed. I did lightly touch on the fact that me and my group prioritized health and safety. A few times in a few of my other blogs. But now I just wanted to get more in depth on the actual equipment. First off we had adults on standby. Just in case an emergency took place. Anything is possible so we wanted to prepare for such. Just in case something out of our hands happened. This next bit may seem like overkill. But we also had 3 first aid kits. My mom always has them stocked up just in case of any emergency around the house. So this was the perfect occasion to use them for in case of any accidents on set. Third we also rehearsed some of the more risky scenes before filming. Namely the scene where I get stabbed. As that scene was necessary for the movie we definitely didn’t want to cut it out. Instead we were sure to make the scene go as smooth, strategic, and straightforward as possible. We had suse

Safety and Precautions (Production Blog)

Hey bloggers! it's me back with another blog. This blog is set up like a prequel of the first gathering supplies blog. In this blog we talk more about the brainstorming of the gathering supplies. I may have touched on it lightly in before, but I wanted to elaborate and really shed light on why we made some of the choices we did. Think of this like a reflection/directors commentary. Firstly, why we decided to use knives and blood in the first place. Blood to some is considered light gore and that's a risky field to get into. This is also a risk in the fact that it still needs to be executed well. We really wanted to take our time making sure the blood and use of knives was first safe. But secondly, looked decent. As high schoolers and not production studios we couldn't exactly replicate movies. However, by studying our genre and using some ideas they utilized we would be able to come close to replication. Close to replication for a bunch of broke high school kids that is. S

Music (Production Blog)

Hey bloggers it me back again with another blog. Today we get into our music for our movie. Now initially, music was the last thing on my mind for this film. I knew the clip would be short for one. Two I knew the script we had was important so music would almost get in the way. But after studying more and more films in our genre we noticed sound is important. Licensed songs that you would normally have in your playlist were rarely used. However sound was definitely a big factor. It was used to add suspense and mystery within the film. So with learning this I started to look at certain sounds that my group could use. I ended up using the tried and true method of using YouTube. I searched up "thriller sounds free". Too my surprise this was a popular niche on the website. As some of the videos had millions of views. Some having 20 million+ views . I ended up finding a channel that had a playlist of free thriller and horror movie sounds. All of which were royalty free. Which was
